  • How do I know if my session is cancelled

Our protocol is that a decision is made on the cancellation of a session 30 minutes before the session is to begin. If sadly called off, the website is updated and should be the first thing to check if you fear that your session may be called off, simply scroll down the home page and click on cancelled sessions. We will also look to send a text to you however as you can imagine this can take some time.

If a session is unfortunately cancelled then the cancelled session is added to the end of the term in our wet weather week. It will be held at the same time on the same day as a make up for the lost session. If more than one session is cancelled then we will be in contact with you to work out a plan to make up for the lost sessions.

  • How much should my child be playing?

This is very much up to you. Depending on what your child would like to get out of tennis we encourage them to play as much as they would like, especially as the summer weather will soon be upon us.

  • How many tournaments should my child look to play?

Organising your tournament calendar is advised to be completed with your coach to work out the best amount and level of tournaments to enter. Their experience of various tournaments will help to devise a plan for your year.

  • What is the procedure to make sure my child attends there session?

We work with each school closely to make sure that each child gets all the help they can to attend each session. We ask reception to make a school announcement on the day of the session and advise the children to pair up with someone who also attends the session so that they can remind each other about the tennis.  We may also ask children before the session begins to try and find anyone that may be missing but only if they know where they may be and if there is time. Reminding your child on the morning of each session has also helped children to attend in the past.

Camps operate to keep the kids as active as possible and also provide them with some tennis coaching. The mornings are generally more tennis specific, with exercises and games designed to interest children in the games of tennis. The afternoons tend to go into a mixture of quiet activities and more general games that cover a wide range of sports and interests so that all kids have a chance to do something that they want to do.

If for one reason or another your child is unable to attend a camp day that they are booked on for, simply phone or email our offices after 8 and we will let the coach know they shall not be attending
