CLUB TENNIS

Each product gives a small bio about the age or tennis experience ideal for each session. If you are still unsure email us at coaching@kiwitennis.co.nz or call us on 022 898 1212 and we will do our best to give you an ideal recommendation for your child.

If you are a member of the club you are having coaching at, then you will recieve a 15% members discount of group coaching. Let us know on booking and once we confirm you are a member we will provide you with a discount code.

It is recommend that you bring your own racquet to coaching sessions, however if you do not own a racquet we can provide you with one to help you find the best one for you. Please let us know in advance of your coaching session if you do require a racquet. If you were looking to buy a racquet then follow the link below to our club shop for more information.

All you need is yourself, your favourite racquet, suitable footwear, a water bottle and on warmer days a hat and sunscreen.

Of course! Our website is pro rata so that your child can join at any point during the term. Alternatively, email us at coaching@kiwitennis.co.nz or call us on 022 898 1212 and we can book you in.

Our protocol is that a decision is made on the cancellation of a session 20 minutes before the session is to begin. If the session is called off for any reason, including wet weather you will recieve an SMS message from the coach. If you do not hear from us, please assume the session is on.

If a session is unfortunately cancelled then the cancelled session is added to the end of the term in our wet weather week. It will be held at the same time on the same day as a make up for the lost session. If more than one session is cancelled then we will be in contact with you to work out a plan to make up for the lost sessions.

This is very much up to you. Depending on what your child would like to get out of tennis we encourage them to play as much as they would like. If you would like more information on how much you should be playing please talk to your coach.

SCHOOL TENNIS

You do not need to bring any racquets or tennis balls as the coach will provide them. If you were looking to buy a racquet then follow the link below to our club shop for more information or simply click on add a racquet when ordering your school session.

It is sometimes hard for the children to remember their coaching sessions each week. We try out best to ensure children attend their sessions however as the coaches do not know the school well it isn’t possible for them to get children from their classrooms prior to the session. In some schools we are able to page children over the tannoy but again this isn’t always possible. Therefore, we recommend you let your childs teacher know or place a note in their lunch box to help them remember.

If your school has given us permission to use the hall if needed then outdoor sessions may be transferred into the hall. The child will be made aware of this during the morning by reception.

HOLIDAY CAMP

In either whole day of half day bookings, you DO NOT need to sign up for a whole week. The website allows you to sign up for specific days and the price is adjustment to show this.

You can sign up at any point during the camp week and the website will pro rata to accommodate this.

It is advised that your child brings a racquet to the holiday camp with them. However, the coaches do have racquets for the children to use if they do not have their own. Please let us know prior to the camp if a racquet is required so we can ensure we have the correct size available. Alternatively, if you are looking to buy a racquet then follow the link below to our club shop.

For half day camps children need to bring morning tea, comfy clothing, water, hat and sunscreen and for full days children also need their lunch and afternoon tea.

If the weather decides to have an off day then we will move the kids into the clubs pavilion where indoor activities will be done. These can vary from camp to camp depending on the room available but the coaches will look to keep the kids as active as possible.

Camps operate to keep the kids as active as possible and also provide them with some tennis coaching. The mornings are generally more tennis specific, with exercises and games designed to interest children in the games of tennis. The afternoons tend to go into a mixture of quiet activities and more general games that cover a wide range of sports and interests so that all kids have a chance to do something that they want to do.

If for one reason or another your child is unable to attend a camp day that they are booked on for, simply phone or email our offices after 8 and we will let the coach know they shall not be attending
