Gordonton Tennis Club is a small community tennis club located in the town of Gordonton, located just outside Hamilton.

The club was founded in 1918 and has 3 new astro-turf courts all of which are floodlit. Gordonton Tennis Club currently has a great group of local members, including 25 juniors receiving lessons on Friday evenings.

Junior Tennis coaching will restart in Term 4 2017. We look forward to seeing you back on the courts!

The red ball is larger than a yellow ball and doesn’t bounce as high (just 25% compression), making it a breeze for even the youngest players to hit comfortably. The courts and nets used in the Red stage are much smaller making it easier for kids to move around and enjoy success. Red level players may be beginners, improvers or even advanced players.

After mastering the Red stage, children move on to the Orange stage where the ball bounces a little higher (50% compression) and the court is a bit bigger. Orange players play over the regular net on a three quarter length court.

The ball used in the Green stage has a higher compression than the Red and Orange stages (75% of a yellow tennis ball) and children play on a full-size court.

If you want to get involved in high pace, high intensity, fun workouts, then Cardio Tennis is the activity for you. This session will keep you on your toes, completing a tough cardio workout whilst engaging in great core stability and overall fitness. A fantastic class for you to improve your fitness whilst having a great time.
