FAQs

Club Tennis

Each product gives a small bio about the age or tennis experience ideal for each session. If you are still unsure email us at  or call us on 022 429 8155 and we will do our best to give you an ideal recommendation for your child.

If you are a member of the club you are having coaching at, then you will receive a member discount on group coaching and holiday camps. Club members are not required to pay the court hire fee associated with private lessons.

It is recommend that you bring your own racquet to coaching sessions, however if you do not own a racquet we can lend you one to help you find the best one for you. Please let us know in advance of your coaching session if you do require a racquet. If you were looking to buy a racquet then follow the link below to our club shop for more information.

All you need is yourself, your favourite racquet, suitable footwear, a water bottle and on warmer days a hat and sunscreen.

Our protocol is that a decision is made on the cancellation of a session 20 minutes before the session is to begin. If the session is called off for any reason, including wet weather you will recieve an SMS message from the coach. If you do not hear from us, please assume the session is on.

We keep the final week of our coaching term as a “wet weather week”.  If a session is cancelled then you will have a makeup session in the final week of term.   We only offer one wet weather makeup session a term.

This is very much up to you. The more practice you have, the better you’ll get!  One session a week is usually not enough to see rapid progress, so we recommend joining your club and heading down to practice with family and friends.

School Tennis

For our user pays school your child will not need their own racquet, as the coaches do have these on hand.  However, we do recommend to ensure your child is playing with the correct size racquet that you purchase your own.   If you were looking to buy a racquet then follow the link below to our club shop for more information or simply click on add a racquet when ordering your school session.

All you need is yourself, suitable footwear, a water bottle and on warmer days a hat and sunscreen

It is sometimes hard for the children to remember their coaching sessions each week!  Friends, the playground, other distractions all come into play in our lunchtime classes!  We recommend you let your child’s teacher know they have tennis or place a note in their lunch box to help them remember.  If they can’t read just yet – a picture often helps.  We’re unable to collect students from their classrooms – our coaches arrive just before the session to set up as they’re usually coaching in other locations before your class.  They also don’t know the layout of the school, nor which class your child is in.

Of course! Our website is pro rata so that your child can join at any point during the term.

We keep the final week of our coaching term as a “wet weather week”.  If a session is cancelled then you will have a makeup session in the final week of term.   We only offer one wet weather makeup session a term.

If your school has a hall or gym then outdoor sessions may be transferred indoors.  We will advise you of this in advance.

Holiday Camps

In either whole day of half day bookings, you DO NOT need to sign up for a whole week. The website allows you to sign up for specific days and the price is adjusted to show this.

You can sign up at any point during the camp week and the website will pro rata to accommodate this.

It is advised that your child brings a racquet to the holiday camp with them. However, the coaches do have racquets for the children to use if they do not have their own. Please let us know prior to the camp if a racquet is required so we can ensure we have the correct size available. Alternatively, if you are looking to buy a racquet then follow the link below to our club shop.

For half day camps children need to bring morning tea, comfy clothing, water, hat and sunscreen and for full days children also need their lunch and afternoon tea.

We run rain, hail or shine!  If the weather decides to have an off day we will move indoors into the clubhouse, and run activities indoors.

Our mornings are tennis specific, with exercises and games designed to interest children in our fantastic sport.  What the children do is often dependent on the ages and ability levels of those on camp.   Any full day camps we operate will include other sport activities, or visits to the playground, and indoor play.

If for one reason or another your child is unable to attend a camp day that they are booked on for, we do require 24 hours notice to avoid charges.
